The exhibition of the life and work of Nicolai Gustavich Legat, dancer, teacher, choreographer and caricaturist was joined by artists from Russia and Wales, began in Swansea's Grand Theatre on August 2nd 2004 and then moved to St David's Hall Cardiff.
It was introduced there by Tamara Dragadze.
It then moved to Carmarthen Museum until December 23rd. It was seen and admired by a great number of people.
The exhibition was organised by the Welsh artist Charlotte Leadbeater. The porcelain dolls made by Olga Alexeeva looked wonderful with the Legat exhibition. Prints of the caricatures were sold and are still available- please contact moyavahey@beynon65.freeserve.co.uk
Alys Owen, a pupil of the Moya Vahey school is now training at The Perm State Ballet School in Russia. The Legat Foundation was able to present Alys with the 2004 Ana Roje memorial scholarship via Patricia Dean Gray MBE.
